David qualified from the University of Ibadan Nigeria in 1987. After an initial training in general surgery in Leeds and Newcastle Upon-Tyne, he had higher specialist training in emergency medicine in the South West of England.

He was consultant in emergency medicine for 16 years at the University Hospital Plymouth, UK, before relocating to the United Arab Emirates, Al Ain, in 2018.

He is currently assistant professor, emergency medicine, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirate University, Al Ain and senior consultant in emergency medicine, Tawam Hospital, Al Ain, United Arab Emirates.

David is a member of several professional organizations such as the Royal College of surgeons Edinburgh and the Royal College of emergency medicine UK. He is also a member of non-profit organizations such as the Centre for Medical Informatics and Professional Development (CMIPD), the Medical Association of Nigerian Specialists and General practitioners (MANSAG). For the past decade, at both personal and organizational levels, David has been providing annual educational and skills training at various hospitals in Nigeria. His areas of interests are medical education, capacity building, skills training and transfer, trauma systems development and trauma care.
